Cleveland Browns Fire Mike Pettine and GM Ray Farmer

Cleveland, OH – The Cleveland Browns have fired head coach Mike Pettine and general manager Ray Farmer on Sunday after a awful season, the team announced in a statement.

Pettine had a 10-22 record in his two seasons at the helm of the club, including 3-13 this year. Farmer was promoted from assistant GM to GM prior to the start of that tenure.

Yes, the Browns had issues all over the board, with roster and on up through the front office. Yes, the quarterback carousel had lots to do with the bad season. Yes, Johnny Manziel had a lot to do with the bad season. Yes, Pettine’s defense had many deficiencies.

Browns owner Jimmy Haslam told reporters Sunday night that newly named executive vice president Sashi Brown will be in charge of football operations and will have final say on roster.

Possible replacements for the Browns could be Adam Gase, Chip Kelly, Teryl Austin, Doug Marrone and Hue Jackson.

It is being mentioned that Cleveland will be inclined to hire a defensive coach to tackle the major issues on that side of the ball.
