Conor McGregor Vows Return To Greatness

UFC Featherweight Champion Conor McGregor did not miss a beat, after suffering a monumental loss in a non-title bout against tough contender Nate Diaz on Saturday, at UFC 196, which took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

McGregor, who has never been at a loss for words, was having a war of words with Diaz leading up to 196, and they carried that animosity all the way into the octagon, where McGregor was stopped 4:12 into round 2. The loss ended the 15-fight winning streak that the champ carried into the match, where he loss by submission.

On Sunday, McGregor took to Facebook to show that the loss didn’t deter him, but, in fact, inspired him to work harder than ever before. Said McGregor in his post, which is unedited, and presented in it’s entirety:

“I stormed in and put it all on the line. I took a shot and missed.
I will never apologize for taking a shot.
Shit happens.
I’ll take this loss like a man. I will not shy away from it. I will not change who I am. If another champion goes up 2 weights let me know.
If your tired of me talking money, take a nap.
I’ll still be here when you wake up with the highest PPV and the gate. Still talking multi 7’s.
Thank you to the true support and fuck the hate that came out of the woodwork. I love it all. Its still steak for breakfast.
I’ve been here many times in my life in some form or another. I’ll eat it all and come back stronger.
Aldo you are a pussy. Dos anjos you are a pussy.
When the history books are written, I showed up. You showed up on Twitter.
To the fans! Never ever shy away from challenges. Never run from adversity. Face yourself head on.
Nate I will see you again.”

It looks as if the fire has been lit up in his belly, and perhaps the next time Diaz and McGregor square off, the title may be on the line. Many fight fans believe Diaz more than proved that he deserved a shot, considering the fact that he submitted the champ, and it may inspire UFC President Dana White to consider the option.
