With the 5th pick in the 2016 MLB Draft the Brewers selected University of Louisville, outfielder Corey Ray.

At the number 6 prospect in the 2016 MLB draft is outfielder Corey Ray and he has reached another milestone in life and he is already thinking about giving back to the City he came from.  When asked about the upcoming draft by Baseball America, Ray said:

“I think about the first camp I’ll run in Chicago,”  “That’s a big goal of mine, to help those guys from Chicago – or any inner city. I know how tough it is, being a product of it. I’ll help in any way I can.”

Corey Ray is the first native of Chicago since 1989 to be selected in the top ten of the MLB draft.  Not only is Ray a classy player who never forgets where he came from but his abilities on the field stand alone.

*tremendous speed

*potential as a 30/30 player

*can bat anywhere in the order

*sound approach

Some of Ray’s weaknesses:

*needs to improve his arm strength
