Cousin of Odell Beckham Jr. Tries Out for WWE

New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. may have a little competition in the discussion over who is the top athlete in the family, as his cousin Terron Beckham tried out for the WWE this week at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.

According to WWE.com, Terron was one of the marquee athletes who attended the tryout.

While Beckham surely impressed WWE officials, it wasn’t the only time that his athleticism caught the attention of the sports world, as last year, he took part in the Beyond Sports Network (BSN) Combine, with the hopes of potentially getting signed to the NFL.

Terron’s physicality, especially his strength, certainly impressed scouts who were in attendance. The Gridiron Crew reported his results:

As per Dane Brugler of CBSSports.com, Beckham ran a 4.47-second 40-yard dash, 6.89 three-cone drill, and a 4.28 short shuttle, maintaining a 44-inch vertical leap and an 11-foot broad jump.

In speaking with the media after the workout, Beckham said:

“I understand I have a big learning curve, for not playing college football, I have a lot to catch up and learn and do.”

Due to having not played college football, Beckham was a definite long shot to get into the NFL. He didn’t sign with a team last year, even though he was given a tryout with the New York Jets in May.

And while there hasn’t been any contract offered to Beckham, his athleticism and look might entice the WWE into giving him a second look, though there hasn’t been any word that they have considered an offer.

But, in him being related to one of the league’s marquee stars, it may also convince Vince McMahon to consider bringing him in… Even if his son-in-law Triple H is a Patriots fan.
