Dallas Displays Heart And Passion Against Tampa Bay

The Cowboys were coming off of another loss to the New York Giants as they hosted the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs were riding a five game winning streak and gave the Cowboys a run for their money. The Cowboys showed passion on each side of the ball as they were able to get back on track with a much needed victory.

Dallas took a lot of criticism following their loss to the Giants. The offense was out of sync and Dak Prescott’s play was being questioned. This win Sunday night silenced the critics and was a statement victory. The Cowboys have an evolving pass rush with David Irving and the secondary is forcing turnovers. With the defense stepping up and the offense getting back on track, Dallas has a chance to seal the NFC conference.

Dak Prescott had one of his best games and he got his main targets involved. Prescott completed 32 out of 36 pass attempts for 279 yards and a rushing touchdown. Of those 36 attempts, Dez Bryant and Jason Witten received 20 combined targets, hauling in 18 of them. Bryant and Witten were efficiently used and gave the Cowboys numerous first downs throughout the game. The passion and energy of the offense propelled their defense.

Ezekiel Elliott had a monster game with 159 yards on the ground and a touchdown. The Dallas running game was once again dominant as the Cowboys were able to move the ball with ease most of the game. Outside of a few trick plays on the ground, the Tampa Bay defense couldn’t figure out how to slow this potent rushing attack.

Even with an effective offense that was able to move the ball and put up points, the highlight of the game was the defensive passion for the Cowboys. They gave up some points on a few drives, but they were electric and determined to get to Jameis Winston. The Dallas defense pressured Winston all night and made a great impact.

The Cowboys forced Winston into many third and longs, and forced him to make some bad decisions. Dallas caused four turnovers from Winston alone. Jeff Heath, Byron Jones, and Orlando Scandrick were able to intercept Winston. The front seven of the Cowboys applied outstanding pressure and sacked Winston four times.

The game ended up being very close as it was just a six point game. However, the Cowboys controlled and dominated the game from the very start. There were two missed field goals and a few drives stalled due to penalties. The Cowboys played sound football and defeated a very talented Buccaneers team.

With all the pieces coming together for Dallas in December, their championship run will soon begin. The Cowboys defeated the Buccaneers 26-20 on Sunday Night Football.
