The Dallas Mavericks and their future Hall of Fame forward Dirk Nowitzki agreed to a 2 year, 50 million dollar contract extension, according ESPN’s Marc Stein.

The 38 year old big man has aged incredibly, as he’s coming off a season in which he played 75 games and put up averages of 18.3 points & 6.5 rebounds per game. The Mavs are making sure they pay the guy that was key in bringing them an NBA championship in 2011, and you have to respect that.

The Mavs have also added Harrison Barnes, Andrew Bogut, and Seth Curry to the core of Dirk, Wesley Matthews, Deron Williams, Justin Anderson, and Dwight Powell. Mavs fans should be excited; this team if healthy could really win a lot of games, advancing far in the playoffs.
