Do you want a Rajon Rondo?

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me. Fool me three times, I’m a franchise in the NBA that has signed Rajon Rondo. Ever since Rajon Rondo was slinging passes to KG and Ray Allen it has gone down hill, quickly. He had the reputation with Doc Rivers to be argumentative and hard-headed. The Kentucky product was in charge of running an offense with three future hall of famers and performed very well.

Well ever since that he’s been on three different teams and with Chicago it’s been a disaster. He’s been getting DNP’d Coaches decision. He’ll probably get booed any time he plays the Dallas Mavericks at home. The Mavs traded Brendan Wright, Jameer Nelson, Jae Crowder, a first  and a second round pick. In Dallas he only played 26 games averaging nine points and just over six assists. Fighting with coaches, quitting on his team and being a bad teammate were all things coming out of Dallas. He moved on and signed with the Kings where he had a great contract year season. He averaged 11.9 points and 11.6 assists. Rondo even got along with DeMarcus Cousins but their team just didn’t have enough talent to make a legitimate playoff run.

The 30-year-old signed a two-year 28 million dollar deal with the Chicago Bulls. The Windy City formed a mini big three with Jimmy Butler and Dwayne Wade. It simply hasn’t worked. He is only averaging 7 points and 7 assists. Not something you want out of a point guard and someone who is supposed to be a major part of your team. He was suspended earlier in the year and now is no longer in the rotation. Micheal Carter Williams and Jerian Grant are playing in front of him.  It puts the Bulls in a terrible position because they can’t have a PG like Rondo just sitting on the bench. But how do you trade him and get anything valuable in return. Chicago has a legitimate shot at the playoffs so you’ll need to get a rotation player in return.

Now if you’re a contending team do you want a player like Rajon Rondo. Has the talent but also has the talent to crush chemistry and locker room morale. The Cavaliers need a backup PG but the Bull’s wouldn’t be too fond of seeing Rondo in that colour of red in the playoffs. LeBron usually gets what he wants and has publicly said Cleveland needs a backup PG. If Rondo ended up in The Land, he would have to have a long a convo with the King on what he can and can’t do.

RR has to be on the radar of many teams, but he is simply not worth the risk. The only teams who should trade for him is teams who want to take. Let him be Rondo and see if he can help your team but if he doesn’t it’s not a big deal because you want to lose anyways. He’s not only killing teams but he’s killing careers.
