Ezekiel Elliot Selected 4th In The 2016 NFL Draft

NFL: Ezekiel Elliot

With the 4th pick in the 2016 NFL Draft the Dallas Cowboys have selected Running Back Ezekiel Elliot from the Ohio State University.

Elliot may be the best running back in the draft by far. I can see a scenario where a team trades up for him. He’s a top five player on my draft board. Elliot has power and speed. He can run block. He is the total package for the position that has been somewhat devalued over the years.

Want your team to score more points? ‘Zeke ran for 23 touchdowns last year. I predict he will be an immediate impact player earlier on his career like Todd Gurley.

‘Zeke uses his elite vision, body control, balance and acceleration to speed past defenders. He tallied 3,961 yards, a 6.7 yard per carry average, and 43 rushing touchdowns over the course of four years at Ohio State. That production has put him up there with some of the great running backs to ever play for the Buckeyes, like Eddie George and Archie Griffin.

The only knock on him is that he is too patient at times waiting for blocks to set. Sometimes, he makes one cut too many.

Elliot is an all-around talent and will thrive on the next level.  He has potential to succeed with the Cowboys and should be an immediate help as a three-down, bell-cow running back.
