FA Charge Ibrahimovic and Mings With Violent Conduct

Manchester, England- Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Bournemouth’s Tyrone Mings have been given violent conduct charges. This comes after United’s game with Bournemouth on Saturday.

The pair clashed numerous times throughout the match. The first of which came when Zlatan threw Mings to the ground after Mings got to close to him. The Swede proceeded to let the Englishman know who was in charge, tossing him with ease to the Old Trafford turf below.

Mings ban is due to a stamp he performed on Ibrahimovic during the game. The 23-year-old Englishman, fresh from a tackle with Wayne Rooney, trod on the head of the Swede. Many top analysts have rushed to the defense of Mings. Danny Murphy claims that the FA can’t ban Mings due to the fact,”If he says he didn’t mean it how can you prove that he did”.

Mings will face a longer ban then Zlatan with the FA claiming that a standard three-match ban would be “clearly insufficient”.

Ibrahimovic will receive the standard 3 match ban for his involvement in the clash. Ibrahimovic will receive the ban for a deliberate elbow on Mings. In his post-match interview Ibrahimovic maintained that he did not mean to elbow Mings,” In my situation I jump up I jump high, same time I protect myself and unlucky he jumps into me”. Ibrahimovic and Mings both have until 6PM on Tuesday to respond to the violent conduct charges.

Former referee Dermot Gallagher told Sky Sports earlier the elbow,”ticks every box for a red card”.

If suspended, Ibrahimovic will miss United’s next three games which are against Chelsea, in the FA Cup Quarter Final. Additionally, both Middlesbrough and West Brom respectively.

Mings if given the standard three match ban will miss games against West Ham, Swansea and Southampton, but is expected to be given an extended suspension.
