FireKeepers Casino 400 At MIS Preview

This weekend, NASCAR’s finest head to Michigan International Speedway for the FireKeepers Casino 400. This is the 14th race of the 2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup season. In last year’s rain shortened running, Kurt Busch Beat out Dale Earnhardt Jr. for his second win of the season.

Another Week, Another Defending Winner With Momentum: With last Monday’s win at Pocono, Kurt Busch is once again in the Chase For The Sprint Cup. But, he also enters his FireKeepers Casino 400 with similar momentum as Martin Truex Jr. did entering Pocono after his Coca-Cola 600 win. Question is, will Kurt fair any better this week than Truex Jr.?

Hometown Boy Hounding For A Win: Brad Keselowski, a Rochester Hills, Michigan native, attempts to become the eighth active driver to win a race in his home state Sunday. The seven active drivers with wins in their home states are: Jimmie Johnson (7 victories), Denny Hamlin (7), Tony Stewart (2), Aric Almirola (1), Kyle Busch (1), Kevin Harvick (1) and Ryan Newman (1).

A Track Of Different Winners: Michigan International Speedway have seen a different winner in each of the last six races there: Greg Biffle (June 2013), Joey Logano (August 2013), Jimmie Johnson (June 2014), Jeff Gordon (August 2014), Kurt Busch (June 2015) and Matt Kenseth (August 2015).

Kenseth Finding His Way At Last: Matt Kenseth carries a four-race streak of finishing seventh or better at Michigan International Speedway where he has won three times, including the last race held there in August of 2015.

Tate Taps In As Grand Marshal: UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Miesha Tate will serve as grand marshal for Sunday’s FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speeway. Tate, who is represented by Kevin Harvick’s KHI Management group, upset then-champ Holly Holm in March in UFC 196 in Las Vegas. Coincidentally, NASCAR was in the city on the same weekend and Tate came out for the race that Sunday.

Below is some NASCAR Fantasy advice for the FireKeepers Casino 400 and the drivers to consider and to avoid:
