Former Colts WR Reggie Wayne To Retire

According to league sources, Former Colts WR Reggie Wayne will retire after 14 seasons in the league.

“I think so, bro, yeah,” Wayne said Friday in a phone interview with CBS4 of Indianapolis when asked if he’ll retire. “Yeah, I’m done. … It was fun, but it’s time. It’s just time.”

Despite signing a one-year contract with the Patriots during training camp, Wayne did not play a regular season snap in 2015 after failing to make the 53-man roster and has since pondered on his future.

He was on pace for a strong season in 2013 with Indianapolis after recording 38 receptions through the first seven games of the season, but a torn ACL derailed that campaign and left him somewhat limited in 2014 at age 36.

Wayne’s 14,345 receiving yards are the eighth-most in NFL history, just 235 behind former teammate Marvin Harrison. As a six-time Pro Bowl selection with impressive career numbers, he has strong Hall of Fame credentials.
