Ganso Will Join Sevilla From Sao Paulo

Sao Paulo, Brazil – Paulo Henrique Chagas de Lima, or ‘Ganso’ as he is more commonly known, is on his way to Seville to be under new Sevilla boss Jorge Sampaoli.

Sao Paulo president Carlos Augusto de Barros, also known as ‘Leco’, told Brazilian channel SporTV confirmed the interest of Sevilla for Ganso saying: “Ganso is out of Sao Paulo’s plans for the rest of the season. He’s told me he’s going to the team he wants to go to. I have to admit. He always behaved well and contributed wonderful football that he always showed. He leaves a legacy. I can say that few people admire Ganso as much as I do. He knows my appreciation for him.”

The transfer of the 26-year-old attacking midfielder is believed to have been closed at a fee of around 9.5 million euros.

Monchi, Sevilla soccer director, had already announced that an agreement with Sao Paulo was close and now all that remains is for both clubs to make the news official at some point in the next few hours.

Sevilla have also signed two other attacking midfielders in Pablo Sarabia from Getafe and Hiroshi Kiyotake from Hannover already this summer, while midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak has left for Paris Saint-Germain and playmaker Ever Banega moved to Inter Milan.
