GoBowling 400 At Kansas Speedway Preview

This weekend, NASCAR’s finest head to Kansas Speedway for the GoBowling 400. This is the 11th race of the 2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup season. In last year’s running, Jimmie Johnson outlasted Kevin Harvick to win in a rain-delayed affair.

Calm After The Dega’ Storm: After last week’s massacre at Talladega this last weekend where the dumpster of twisted cars was about the same as the teams checkbooks, teams will be happy to be in a calmer Kansas Speedway this weekend. Ten cautions with only at the most 6 cars left undamaged won’t be a factor again anytime soon and teams can relax for a while.

Bayne’s Rebound: There’s something about restrictor-plate racing that brings out the best in Trevor Bayne. Bayne led 22 laps at Talladega, which is awfully encouraging if you’re the No. 6 team considering how the last couple seasons have been. With one top five (Bristol) and two top 10s so far this season, Bayne remains in the thick of the Chase hunt and could play sleeper as the season rolls on.

Hamlin In Decline?: Denny Hamlin technically doesn’t have anything to worry about, but he did lose four spots in the standings, the biggest drop out of all the drivers. Hamlin has been sloppy of late. Pit-road penalties and pit-road snafus have mired him the past few races. Talladega saw him get into a minor accident on pit road. Maybe it was spotter error. However, keep your eyes out for a potential rebound in the coming races.

Kenseth/Logano Feud Soothes?: By all accounts, the feud between Kenseth and Logano is decidedly not over despite the contrary. If you ask Logano, he’ll say it is. But after Logano kicked Kenseth around at Talladega, Kenseth said, “I thought we were done with that, but maybe we aren’t.” And now we return to the track that started it all for these two last fall. Logano, intent on passing Kenseth in the final laps, spun Kenseth out when Kenseth thought he had his Eliminator Round passport punched. He never recovered and failed to advance. The rest, including last weekends chapter is history.

Below is some NASCAR Fantasy advice for the GoBowling 400 and the drivers to consider and to avoid:

Drivers To Consider: Joey Logano, Ryan Newman, Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick, Kyle Larson

Potential Sleepers: Brian Scott, Danica Patrick, Paul Menard, Ryan Blaney

The GoBowling 400 at Kansas Speedway starts Saturday night at 7:30PM on FS1
