Graziano Pelle has joined Chinese club Shandong Luneng

Jinan, China – Southampton’s Graziano Pelle has joined Chinese Super League side Shandong Luneng after a monster offer worth 14 million euros and will see him earning 40 million euros in two years, the club has confirmed.

“Southampton Football Club can confirm striker Graziano Pelle has joined Chinese side Shandong Luneng for an undisclosed fee,” a statement on the Saints’ official website announced.

“The 30 year-old moved to St Mary’s from Dutch side Feyenoord in the summer of 2014, helping Saints achieve back-to-back record-breaking seasons in the Premier League.

“Pellè made 81 appearances during two successful campaigns with the club, scoring 30 goals – including some spectacular strikes – and earning recognition at international level with Italy.

“Everyone at Southampton Football Club would like to thank Graziano for his efforts during his time at St Mary’s and wish him well for the future.”

Pelle, joined the Premier League side from Feyenoord in 2014 and scored 30 goals in 81 appearances.

The striker managed some solid performances at Euro 2016 and many expected him to move clubs this summer.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Pelle has been offered a contract that will see him earning a total of 40 million euros over two-and-a-half years.

Pelle is the third player to leave the Saints this summer, after midfielder Victor Wanyama joined Tottenham and Liverpool signed forward Sadio Mane.
