Harry Kane Could Face Spell On Sidelines

FA CUP

Spurs striker Harry Kane injured against Millwall

London, England – Spurs striker Harry Kane may be facing a spell on the sidelines. The Englishman rolled his ankle in the FA CUP quarter final tie against Millwall. Spurs won the game 6-0. Kane, who has 24 goals in all competitions this seasons, limped off after ten minutes. The 23 year old rolled his ankle after a tackle from Millwall’s Jake Cooper. Kane did manage to walk off the pitch and down the tunnel but left White Hart Lane in a protective boot. The striker suffered a similar ankle injury earlier on in the season against Sunderland and Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino fears it’s the same. Pochettino said,”“It looks a similar situation to Sunderland, during that game, but we’ll see. If you watch it on television, it was a similar action.”

Pochettino declared that Kane will miss the game against Southampton on Sunday, and fears the injury could be serious,”

We need to wait and be positive. We hope it’s not a big issue, but it looks similar.

“It will be difficult for him to play against Southampton on Sunday, but we need to wait now.

“We need to be cautious and see what happens in the next few days.”

If Kane does miss the rest of the season it will seriously dent Spurs title hopes. Kane has scored 19 goals in 22 games in the Premier League. In his absence today Heung Min Son scored a hat-trick. Spurs fans will be hoping he can step up if Kane is to miss some key games. The news of Kane’s injury could be bad news for Gareth Southgate as England prepare for games against Germany and Lithuania in the coming weeks. Everyone but the rivals of Tottenham will be praying Kane gets better soon. Although it does look increasingly likely the ankle ligament injury that forced him to miss seven weeks at the start of the season has returned.
