Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin has signed a new long-term deal with the Premier League club

London, United Kingdom – Arsenal and Spain international defender Hector Bellerin has signed a new long-term deal with the Gunners, the club announced.

The deal is said to be for six-and-a-half years, with a pay raise that sees him making $124,535 a week.

He has made 67 top-flight appearances, including 11 this season before he was ruled out for four weeks with injury.

Bellerin was voted as the best right back in the Premier League in the PFA vote last season and his aggressive displays from full back have helped him become a regular over the past two seasons after coming through Arsenal’s academy.

“I just signed my new deal with the club,” Bellerin confirmed. “I am really, really, really happy. As you know I’ve been here for a long time and I feel like this is my home and this is the right thing for me to do. I am very happy to be a Gunner for many more years.”

Manchester City and Barcelona were among a number of clubs monitoring Bellerin’s situation after he emerged as one of the Premier League’s top defenders following his breakthrough into Arsenal’s first team set-up during the 2014-15 season.

Nothing is ever set in stone in soccer, so there may still be an exit for Bellerin in the future.
