Hunter Pence To Have Surgery

Giants outfielder Hunter Pence will have surgery on his hamstring and will be out 8 weeks.

The injury occurred Wednesday while Pence was running to first base. He said he felt a pop and had to be helped off the field.

Pence was told by a doctor that if he wanted to come back 100% that surgery was his only option.

No surgery date has been decided but Pence has visited 3 doctors.

This is the second hamstring injury that the 33-year old has faced in 2 weeks.

Pence had seven homers and 36 RBI’s before being placed on the DL.

Jarrett Parker and Mac Williamson are likely to split time in right field in Pence’s absense.
