ICYMI: Cleveland Browns Hire Hue Jackson

Cleveland, OH – The Cleveland Browns have hired former Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson as their new coach.

Jackson has been a long time coordinator, coaching several teams in the AFC North as part of the Bengals and Ravens. He also coached the Oakland Raiders for one season, finishing 8-8.

The 50-year-old has been considered as one of the brightest offensive minds in the NFL and will have control over the football-operations made at Cleveland.

Jackson was presented Wednesday after the news broke that he was taking the Browns job over San Francisco and New York.

“We’ve got a lot of work to do,” Jackson told the gathering of secretaries, sales representatives and others. “We’re going to chase greatness here, that’s for sure. That’s what we’re interested in doing. The AFC North, we want to win the division championship. We want to go to the Super Bowl and win that, too. That’s what it’s all about.”

Jackson also acknowledge the troubled Johnny Manziel, and had this to say: “I don’t know Johnny personally,” Jackson said. “I know who he is, but at the same time I think I have to give everybody on our football team a fair opportunity to see who they are, to truly learn who they are, and then make decisions from there.”

Needless to say that Jackson will take on a challenge, but let’s hope front-office lets Jackson work and give him the time needed to do so.
