Navarre club Osasuna has sacked Joaquin Caparros and appoint Petar Vasiljevic

Pamplona, Spain – Navarre club Osasuna have let Joaquin Caparros go as first-team coach after only eight games in charge, the club confirmed on Thursday.

Sporting director Petar Vasiljevic will take charge of the club until the end of the season.

Caparros took over from sacked Enrique Martin at the end of November 2016, overseeing five La Liga matches and three in the Copa del Rey, winning just one of those (vs Granada) and losing the other seven. In six of those losses El Sadar club conceded two or more goals, and are currently left rock-bottom of the table with seven points.

Los Rojillos have just seven points and are five from safety having won just one of their 16 league games to date.

The 61-year-old, who’s previously coached Granada, Levante, Mallorca and Athletic Club, among others, leaves Osasuna in a bad situation despite coaching the team in just a few weeks.
