Joey Gase Joins BK Racing For Multiple Races For 2017

After cleaning house of it’s 2016 team roster last week, BK Racing announced it’s first driver for the 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season.

Joey Gase will drive the team’s 23 Toyota entry for 3 races with sponsorship from Best Home Furnishings. The three starts include the Daytona 500, Quaker State 400 at Kentucky Speedway in July, and the Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway in August.

“I cannot put into words how thankful I am for the opportunity everyone at Best Home Furnishings and BK Racing has given me,” said Gase in the team’s press release. “Racing in the Daytona 500 and the Bristol night race has been a dream of mine since I can remember. It’s very exciting to share this experience with everyone at Best Home Furnishings and those who have helped me get to this point in my career.”

Gase has 13 prior CUP Starts, most recently with Go FAS Racing last season for 6 races and a best career finish of 32nd with them last spring at Phoenix. He has also spent the last 3 seasons in the XFINITY Series full time with Jimmy Means Racing.

“We’re thrilled to have Joey and Best Home Furnishings, one of the largest furniture manufacturers, join us for the Daytona 500 in February,” said BK Racing team owner Ron Devine in a press release. “It is the largest race of our series and a wonderful event for Joey to debut his BK Racing relationship. We’ve been watching Joey’s growth for quite some time and looking forward to seeing what he can do behind the wheel of a BK race car.”

For BK Racing, it’s just another example of bringing in new and young blood into the series. The team has introduced former NASCAR NEXT member Dylan Lupton into the CUP Series and ran Jeffrey Earnhardt and Ryan Ellis part time last season.
