Joey Logano used both a little luck and speed to win Sunday’s Advance Auto Parts Clash At Daytona. Leaders  Denny Hamlin and Brad Keselowski wrecked on the final lap in turn two, leading to Joey taking the win. Kyle Busch finished second, followed by Alex Bowman, Danica Patrick, and Kevin Harvick rounding out the top 5.

“Kind of was in the right place at the right time,” Logano told FS1. “Brad was going to make the move, and I was just going to follow him through. When I saw (Hamlin) coming down, I immediately went to the top.”

Keselowski and Hamlin swapped the lead for the majority of the race. They combined for 66 of the 75 laps possible to lead Sunday. Winner Logano on the other hand only led 4 laps en route to the win, albeit leading only twice. This was the Clash win for Joey Logano in 9 tries

While Logano’s luck Sunday was perfect, others saw it unforgiving. Near the end of the first segment, Kurt Busch and Jimmie Johnson tangled off of turn four for the day’s first yellow. Kurt’s day was done, while Jimmie Johnson was able to continue with damage. But, the seven-time CUP champion wrecked again on lap 49 on the same turn, ending his day. Johnson now has 6 straight DNF’s in the Clash.

Martin Truex Jr. also brought out the caution on lap 59 after making contact with Kyle Larson off of turn 3. The crash involved both of them and ended their days. Chris Buescher was also involved, but was able to continue en route to a 9th place finish.

NASCAR’s finest will next determine the Daytona 500 field Thursday night at the Can-Am Duels At Daytona.
