Argentinian Jorge Sampaoli Closes Door to Argentina

Seville, Spain – Jorge Sampaoli and his coaching staff have confirmed they will stay at Sevilla this season and will not take the Argentina job, according to Spanish sports outlet Marca.

“All I can say is the idea which brought me here is not going to change. Results will judge whether I am successful or not, but I would not forgive myself if I turned my back on a style of play that is extremely attacking and which allows us to search for our objectives,” he told Sevilla’s website.

“What I have found here is ambition and greatness and that is exciting as it inspires us to work to ensure that the club keeps growing and is able to compete against the biggest clubs in Europe,” he added.

“We want to win everything and to try everything and we are going to try and build the most competitive squad possible so that it has a chance of success.”

The rumors of him taking the newly vacated Argentina national team job source from Argentina, in which it was reported that Juan Sebastian Veron was traveling to Seville to persuade Sampoali to take the job.
