Kelly Johnson Traded To Mets

The New York Mets have acquired infielder Kelly Johnson from the Atlanta Braves. Johnson was traded for minor leaguer Akeel Morris and cash.

With players like David Wright and Lucas Duda on the DL, the Mets need another bat.

Last July, the Mets traded Juan Uribe to the Braves for Johnson. Along with the Yoenis Cespedes trade the Mets became a first place team and eventually reached the World Series.

Johnson who is 34, re-signed with the Braves in January on a 1-year, $2 million deal. He has hit .215 with one homer and 10 RBI’s in 121 at-bats this season.
