Kevin Dodd Selected 33rd In The 2016 NFL Draft

NFL: Kevin Dodd

With the 33rd pick in the 2016 NFL Draft the Tennessee Titans selected Defensive End Kevin Dodd from Clemson University.

Deciding to skip his senior season because he says he’s “physically & mentally prepared for the NFL”. Dodd has this unbelievable quickness off the edge that will make you raise your eyebrow watching him play.

You know exactly when he is on the field. He has good enough technique with his hands and even better he has that bend that you are looking for off the edge.

Some say Dodd had it easier on him because of Shaq Lawson (the other Clemson defensive end in this draft) who would often get double teamed by opposing offenses. All I have to say about that is that the film never lies.

Kevin had a medical redshirt year in 2013. He does a lot of little things very well. He can rush the passer and is stout against the run. He is a self-made player who lived in the film room and weight room to earn the starting nod opposite of Lawson heading into the 2015 season. Dodd finished with 62 tackles, 23.5 tackles for loss and 12 sacks, all career highs.

The only knock on him is his repertoire as a pass rusher with limited moves and his inexperience (is he a one-year wonder?).

Kevin is sound at the point of attack and will thrive on the next level.  He has potential to succeed with the Titans and should be an immediate help as a run-stuffing, three-down defensive end.
