Recent Form By Kyle Larson Puts Him In Charge Of NASCAR’s Young Guns

For the last few seasons, fans have looked up to Chase Elliott or even Erik Jones to lead NASCAR’s next generation. But, a familiar name has supersede those two.

Kyle Larson’s recent form has put him in charge of a movement changing the sport. Fans have warmed up to the California native since his first career CUP win last August at Michigan. Now, he’s winning them over with a strong start of consistency only matched by some of the sport’s greatest.

He started out with 3 second place finishes in the first four races. The one race he didn’t finish runner up was the Daytona 500 and that was because he ran out of gas on the final lap. But, his persistence payed off this past weekend at Auto Club not only ending the streak, but putting him in victory lane.

It’s not just his consistency that has won fans and the sport over recently. Kyle is known as one of NASCAR’s hardest chargers. His “go big or go home” type mentality carried over from his sprint car days into the big leagues of NASCAR. Also, his ability to make move others wouldn’t dare is reminiscent to the days of old and has made him a fan favorite.

Overall, you could make the case that a name like Chase Elliott has made NASCAR’s next generation strong. But, nobody has brought more to the table for not only fans, but to the sport as Larson. The young, brash competitor has finally lived up to his true potential everyone saw a few years back. Kyle is the true leader of NASCAR’s youth movement despite the lack of mainstream popularity.

Watch out, Kyle Larson will be a name you hear up front all year.
