Marcelo Bielsa Linked To Espanyol

La Liga

Marcelo Bielsa

Barcelona, Spain – Long time Argentinian manager Marcelo Bielsa has been linked to La Liga Barcelona-based club Espanyol, according to several Spanish media outlets.

Other managers linked to job are Philippe Montanier, Paco Jemez and Jorge Sampaoli, but Bielsa stands out of all. In addition, he managed Espanyol back in six games 1998 (1 victory, 2 draws, 3 losses) before taking the Argentina National team offer.

Added to this, his presence at Camp Nou during the Catalan derby against Barcelona, confirmed rumors that conversations with Bielsa started back in January, including making the Argentinian boss reject all other offers amid Espanyol being away from relegation positions.

The Rosarino has also been linked to several Premier League clubs like Watford and Everton, who are looking to replace Spanish managers Quique Sanchez Flores and Roberto Martinez, respectively.

He was also mentioned as a suitable replacement for Jurgen Klinsmann as the US National coach after this one had a hard time during the CONCACAF World Cup qualification matches against Guatemala.

Bielsa has been on a sabbatical since leaving French club Olympique de Marseille last year due to conflicts with his management.
