Midweek Madness 6/8

On last weeks edition of Midweek Madness, the boys were stocked full with guests to discuss a variety of different stories that dominated the sports world, most notably the death of one of if not the greatest icons in sports, Muhammad Ali. Todd and Rob first welcomed on Nick Willey, a professional MMA fighter to discuss Ali’s impact on his sport, as well as the death of MMA legend Kimbo Slice.

After a great discussion with Nick, Todd and Rob welcomed on undefeated lightweight boxer Ryan Martin and his coach Joe Delguyd. The two men shared some great insight and stories on just how much Ali means to today’s boxers and the impact that his death had on the boxing world.

The duo turned to a couple TSJ101 writers to discuss to major sporting evens that were taking place, the Stanley Cup Finals and the Copa America soccer tournament. Carlos Medellin,  a hockey writer for the website, spoke with tremendous knowledge about the series between the Pittsburgh Penguins and San Jose Sharks, which was coming to an end. After Carlos, Edgar Gomez joined the program to educate the boys and their listeners on the Copa America soccer tournament, mainly the US Mens Soccer Team.

To finish off the show, the boys touched on the NBA Finals and what was wrong with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Lastly it was Todd’s turn on the hot seat for the weekly segment Buzzer Beaters, which he refused to give his co-host  credit for being an amazing Fantasy Football player! Next week the boys will be back from 7-9 to tackle all of the stories in the sports world, and get back to having the callers take their place in the Madness!
