Midweek Madness Recap 6/22

On this weeks edition of Midweek Madness Todd Eckman and Rob Langi pushed through some technical issues and brought their listeners a lot of knowledge about the happenings in the NBA. To start the show, the boys welcomed back friend and basketball enthusiast Darnay Tripp to discuss the NBA Finals and the champion Cleveland Cavaliers. All three guys agreed that they were happy to see Lebron James get his third title and the greatness it took to do it in comeback fashion.

The boys moved onto the draft and with all three being from the Philadelphia area, the talk immediately went to the 76ers and Ben Simmons. Also the boys discussed the chances the Sixer would make any moves to get back into the lottery, perhaps to number three held by the Boston Celtics. It was being reported that the Sixers were trying hard to get back into the top 8 to try and get Kris Dunn. Darnay also provided some knowledge of a few the prospects from out west, where Darnay lives, such as Dejounte Murray and Marquese Chriss.

The boys also discussed the big trades that happened earlier on Wednesday involving players like Jeff Teague who went to the Indiana Pacers as well as Derrick Rose being sent to the New York Knicks. Todd and Rob seemed to disagree a bit on the value of guys like Rose and Teague.

After a break, writer Austin Hutchinson joined the show to talk about his phone conference with ESPN Insider Chad Ford. Austin gave some great inside from Ford, about the first pick in the draft, some of the international players and how Ford felt their value was at an all-time low, and many other topics about the draft.

Prior to the dynamic segment of Buzzer Beaters Todd and Rob unveiled some picks from their first mock drafts prior to Thursday night’s festivities. It was safe to say after the first two picks, the guys had a pretty different feel of what was going to happen. They also discussed some late round gems they thought would fit well with teams down there, including both guys loving the idea of Kentucky guard Tyler Ulis being drafted by the 76ers.

Todd was on the hot seat for Buzzer Beaters this week and Rob brought the heat. Todd did well but to know what his answers where, go check out the show at iTunes, TuneIn, Stitcher, Blog Talk Radio, or until Sunday right at As always, tune in on Wednesday nights 7-9 to catch the boys discuss the world of sports live. EMBRACE THE MADNESS!
