Midweek Madness Recap 7/13

This was the episode we have been waiting for from the boys of Midweek Madness, or as they are now self proclaimed The Ministers of Madness. Todd and Rob only dealt with some minor technical flaws before taking a guest-less show and letting their true personalities hang out. They touched on the recent retirement of Tim Duncan, the many issues surrounding the Rio Olympics, a break down of the AFC East, as well as their segment Buzzer Beaters and a new one, Jackbacker/Whackbacker of the Week.

To start the show the fellas discussed the retirement of NBA Legend Tim Duncan. Both Rob and Todd agreed on just how much Duncan brought to the NBA over his 19 year career, and believe he was the best player of this generation, with a slight edge over the also recently retired Kobe Bryant. Although both players were amazing on the court, Duncan’s quietness, and lack of trouble off the court gave him the nod.

When talking about the Rio Olympic issues, the boys had some harsh words for the IOC and their choices of Host Countries for Olympic games. They touched on everything, from water pollution, to the political strife, as well as the Zika Virus. Rob had some pretty harsh words for some of the male athletes who are not going over due to some of these concerns. However, he understood where many female athletes stood on Zika, as it has major effect on future pregnancies

When it was time to breakdown the AFC East, Rob branded their new name as the AFC LEAST, showing his true opinion on the division. Todd was a little higher on the New York Jets, while Rob was extremely lower on the Miami Dolphins. Both thought the New England Patriots were far and above the best team in the division, but that didn’t stop Rob from giving his true opinion on “Poor” Tom Brady. Definitely a must listen.

Throughout the show the boys digressed a bit to talk about their new love, Ben Simmons, and his performance in the NBA Summer League. Both guys cannot wait until October.

Along with Buzzer Beaters, the boys finished the show with a new segment. Each week one Minister will give his Jackbacker of the week, which is someone who was excellent at some point over the past week. The other host would give his Whackbacker, which is someone that was ridiculously frustrating in some way. Could be sports related, but may not be. Todd had the Jackbacker and Rob had the duty of finding a Whackbacker. Who were they? Tune in at, iTunes podcast, Tunein, Stitcher, or Blog Talk Radio, and EMBRACE THE MADNESS!
