National League Player of the week


Danny Espinosa of the Washington Nationals named MLB NL Player of the Week.
In seven games last week, Espinosa led the Majors with 17 RBI and was tied for the Major League lead with five home runs. The 29-year-old also led the NL in slugging with a 1.077 mark and ranked among League leaders with 28 total bases (T-1st), eight runs scored (T-2nd), 11 hits (T-2nd), a .423 batting average (7th) and a .516 on-base percentage (7th).


American League Player of the Week


Kendrys Morales of the Kansas City Royals named AL Player of the Week.
Morales batted .577 (15-for-26) with six runs scored, three doubles, four home runs and 10 RBI over six games to claim his third career AL Player of the Week Award. He last won with the Los Angeles Angels on April 25, 2010. Kendrys paced the Majors in batting average, hits and total bases (30).
