MLB Recaps 4/25/16

Here is a quick look at the top 2 games played on Monday in the MLB.

Chicago White Sox at Toronto Blue Jays

The Chicago White Sox looked to stay hot as they squared off against Marcus Stroman and the Blue Jays.

Stroman pitched decent in the contest before the 7th inning gave him some trouble and Miguel Gonzalez gave up 11 hits in 5.2 innings, but his team didn’t quit.

In the 7th, the Sox rallied late to give themselves a one run lead after being down 3-2.

Adam Eaton, Jimmy Rollins and Todd Frazier all had RBI in the inning.

The Blue Jays got some help from a double and single by Edwin Encarnacion in the 1st and 3rd respectively and Michael Saunders hit a home run, but it didn’t prove to be enough.

White Sox win 7-5.

Oakland Athletics at Detroit Tigers

The story of this contest was Miguel Cabrera.

Cabrera had been on the longest home run drought of his career before tonight, and he went yard twice.

Jordan Zimmermann was on the hill for the Tigers and he pitched 6.2 innings of one-run ball.

Victor Martinez also supplied some runs with a dinger of his own.

Kendall Graveman didn’t look too sharp in this one as he only got through 4.2 innings before being pulled.

Billy Burns, Yonder Alonso and Mark Canha all did some damage with the stick but the deficit was too much for the A’s to come back from.

Tigers win 7-3.
