NASCAR Mexico Series Continues With New Sponsor

NASCAR has announced the continuation of the NASCAR Mexico Series with a full schedule of races in 2017 and beyond. Also included in the announcement was a multi year agreement with Old World Industries to make PEAK the title sponsor of what will be known as the NASCAR PEAK Mexico Series.

PEAK, a line of automotive antifreeze and coolants, will be the third title sponsor of the series. Additionally, PEAK will become an official NASCAR partner though its other key brands such as BlueDEF.

“The NASCAR PEAK Mexico Series is a place where young drivers are honing their skills and competing for a championship against the toughest competition in Latin America.” said Steve O’Donnell, NASCAR executive vice president and chief racing development officer. “The series drives interest in stock car racing in Mexico, while cultivating talented drivers and pit crew members aspiring to compete at the NASCAR national series level.”

The NASCAR PEAK Mexico Series will return to action in an exhibition race in Mexico City on Dec 3-4. The tour will officially get underway in 2017, with a full championship season. Events and dates for that schedule will be announced at a later date.

The series has helped develop some great young drivers, including Daniel Suarez. Suarez is the first Mexican born driver to win a national series race (2 Xfinity wins) among many other milestones. Suarez is currently competing in the chase for the Xfinity Series championship, the only Mexican born driver to do so to date. Other top drivers from the tour, such as defending champion Ruben Garcia Jr, demonstrates the impressive level of talent throughout the series.
