National League Roster For The 2016 MLB All-Star Game In San Diego

On Tuesday, exactly one week before the 2016 MLB All-star game, the final rosters were announced. The National League side seems to be pretty solid with the Chicago Cubs sending the most players to San Diego. Most of the pitching positions are filled with starting pitchers as the NL is very rich in starting pitching. Here are the players that will take the field on July 12th to represent the National League in the 87th All-star game.

First Base – Anthony Rizzo (Chicago Cubs)
Second Base – Ben Zobrist (Chicago Cubs)
Third Base – Kris Bryant (Chicago Cubs)
Catcher – Buster Posey (San Francisco Giants)
Shortstop – Addison Russell (Chicago Cubs)
Outfield – Bryce Harper (Washington Nationals), Yoenis Cespedes (New York Mets), and Dexter Fowler (Chicago Cubs)

Starting Pitchers – Clayton Kershaw (Los Angeles Dodgers), Jake Arrieta (Chicago Cubs), Noah Syndergaard (New York Mets), Stephan Strasburg (Washington Nationals), Madison Bumgarner (San Francisco Giants), Jose Fernandez (Miami Marlins), Johnny Cueto (San Francisco Giants), Jon Lester (Chicago Cubs) and Juilo Teheran (Atlanta Braves)
Relief Pitchers – Jeurys Familia (New York Mets), Kenley Jansen (Los Angeles Dodgers), Mark Melancon (Pittsburgh Pirates), A.J. Ramos (Miami Marlins) and Fernando Rodney (Miami Marlins)

Adam Duvall (Cincinnati Reds), Corey Seager (Los Angeles Dodgers), Jonathan Lucroy (Milwaukee Brewers), Wil Myers (San Diego Padres), Matt Carpenter (St. Louis Cardinals) , Paul Goldschmidt (Arizona Diamondbacks), Nolan Arenado (Colorado Rockies), Daniel Murphy Washington Nationals), Wilson Ramos (Washington Nationals), Carlos Gonzalez (Colorado Rockies), Odubel Herrera (Philadelphia Phillies), and Marcell Ozuna (Miami Marlins)

As one can tell from the number of Cubs that were voted in, the Chicago Cubs have a very big and loyal fan base. NL manager Terry Collins will have many decisions to make when it comes to pitching. Kershaw is hurt so he will not be able to start the game. In the coming days, it will interesting to see who Collins picks to start the All-star game. There is so much talent in this roster that it is likely to see 10 or more runs produced by this offense. To see just how many runs are made, tune in to the All-star game on July 12th.
