Dallas Looks To Keep Winning Streak Alive At Home In Week 11

The Cowboys have an early start to week 11 as they battle the Ravens at 1:00 p.m. ET. Dallas is riding a current winning streak of eight as their only loss this season was the home opener versus the Giants. The Ravens are sitting at 5-4 and pose a legit threat to ending Dallas‘ winning streak.

The Ravens may have a record that’s just over .500, however they are very good at taking away the very weapon that drives the Cowboys. The Ravens are one of the top teams in the league at stopping the run and collapsing the pocket. The Baltimore defense gives up only 71.3 yards a game on the ground, that’s 3.3 yards per rush. That is an outstanding number and it’s why they have a solid chance at upsetting Dallas. They will have to take away Ezekiel Elliott from this offense and force Dak Prescott to throw more.

Joe Flacco has struggled this season as he’s thrown just nine touchdowns with nine interceptions. He’s a super bowl winning quarterback and he will have to show that in Dallas on Sunday. Flacco will need to lead his Ravens and get on the scoreboard quick to put pressure on the Cowboys‘ defense. If they fail at scoring early and applying pressure on the home team, it could get ugly.

The lack of production on Flacco’s side could be a result of a poor Baltimore rushing attack. Every running back on the Ravens’ roster averages under four yards a carry and they have a combined five rushing touchdowns on the season. Without a sufficient rushing attack, Flacco has been put in several negative positions and has been asked to throw more and more as the season has gone on. Baltimore will need to play physical and get the running game going to help Flacco out.

Dallas is aiming for a ninth consecutive win and to add onto their winning streak. Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott have been on fire this season, but will face a stout Ravens defense on Sunday. Knowing the Ravens have a strong rush defense could actually motivate Elliott to run even harder to show the physicality of the Cowboys‘ offense. Dallas will likely look to get the running game going early as they have each game this season. Once they have established the run, they give Prescott some big play opportunities to spread the ball around.

The Cowboys might have to rely on their running game more than ever in this match up as the Ravens give up just over 200 passing yards a game, which isn’t much. They have quick and athletic corners that apply strong pressure on receivers. This match up will be very intriguing to see how Prescott reacts to such a strong pass defense, especially compared to last week as the Steelers‘ defense showed why they rank in the bottom five pass defenses in the league. This could be one of those games where we see a lot of Dez Bryant. Dak is a rookie and when he’s pressured he will likely try to find his play maker throughout the game. Bryant provides a big target for Prescott to throw to and might get some early looks.

I’d like to think Jason Garrett would stay to a similar game plan as it’s obviously worked this season. Dallas will feed Elliott and get Prescott some easy throws in the passing attack to establish some rhythm and eventually open it up to make some big plays. The Cowboys are a pretty simple offense. They play smart and physical as they continuously oppose their will against defenses. The Cowboys should come out of this one with another win and keep their winning streak alive.

The Ravens and Cowboys will play at 1:00 p.m. ET. Sunday afternoon in Arlington.
