Pujols Adds Another Milestone

Pujols continues to add milestones

Albert Pujols continues to keep his name in the news even though his team is clearly not news worthy this season.  On Saturday Pujols added to an already long list of accomplishments, when he blasted his 30th Home Run of the season.  That makes 14 seasons that he has hit 30 home runs and puts him in good company.  The only other players in Major League history to accomplish this feat were Hank Aaron, Barry Bonds and Alex Rodriguez.

The Home run was also Pujols 590th home run of his career which puts him just 19 behind Sammy Sosa for 8th place on the all-time list.  On Friday, Pujols also added to his Hall of Fame type numbers.  He became just the 16th player to hit 600 doubles for a career. If Albert Pujols is able to reach 600 home runs, he would be just the third player with 600 home runs and 600 doubles in a career and he is already just the fourth player to have 600 doubles and 500 home runs joining Davis Ortiz who reached the mark recently.

If you look at Albert by the numbers he is clearly one of the greatest hitters of all time.  For his career he has .309 Avg, 590 HR, 1809 RBI, 2813 hits and 1662 runs scored.  What Pujols has been able to accomplish should make him clearly a first ballot Hall of Famer when he finally decided to hang up the cleats.
