Ronnie Stanley Selected 6th In The 2016 NFL Draft

NFL: Ronnie Stanley

With the 6th pick of the 2016 NFL Draft, the Baltimore Ravens select Tackle Ronnie Stanley from Notre Dame.

Stanley has been one of my favorite lineman to watch on tape. Maybe the first or 2nd lineman that is going to be taken in this years draft if Tunsil doesn’t end up being the first. Stanley has really long arms and know how to use his hands. Two really key elements for an offensive tackle.

From the point of attack run blocking, to his athletic side of not getting beat to the punch on a bull rush or a speedy edge rusher, he has all the tools you want.

He got better each year up until his senior year. He can be an immediate starter in this league if he keeps working. He needs to improve his functional strength and play with anger. He tends to play a bit timid at times. There are times where he gets too high in his breaks.

Ronnie is one of the premier tackle prospects and his ceiling is really high. He is the model of consistency, playing in 39 straight games (41 games total, 26 at left tackle and 13 at right tackle). Stanley is a dancing bear on the edge. His potential far outweighs his his inconsistencies.

Ronnie is sound at the point of attack and will thrive on the next level.  He has potential to succeed with the Ravens and should be an immediate help as a offensive tackle.
