Royals Place OF Lorenzo Cain On 15-day DL With A Hamstring Strain

Kansas City Royals outfielder Lorenzo Cain has been placed on the 15-day DL. The Royals are calling the injury a hamstring strain which was suffering on Tuesday.

Cain was trying to leg out an infield hit in the seventh inning of the Royals 8-4 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals.

On Wednesday, Cain had an MRI that revealed the damage to his left hamstring.

With Cain going on the DL, the Royals have recalled outfielder Brett Eibner from Triple-A to fill the roster spot.

This will be Eibner’s third time with the Royals this year. He is hitting .297 with a homer, and seven RBI’s in 11 games with the big league squad this season.

Cain will be missed as he is following up his All-star 2015 season with 8 homers and 39 RBI’s so far in 2016.
