Rude Boy Riley arrested

James “Rude Boy” Riley made national headlines earlier this week. But not for the reasons that he might have hoped. Rude Boy Riley was arrested on charges of child pornography.

Riley, who was a part of a recent WWE tryout camp, is being charged with 10 counts of promoting sexual, performance by a child; and 20 counts of possessing a sexual performance by an underage child, per court records.
The ages of the children range from teenagers to as young as infants according to Assistant District Attorney Josh Freeman.
Riley has also admitted to having child pornography on his iPhone and computer according to court documents.

Fair or not, it may be safe to assume his dream of making it to the WWE has taken quite the hit.

Fallout of the arrest

A number of independent wrestling promotions in the North East, including Warriors of Wrestling; which happens to be the promotion ran by Joe Bellini; someone who has known Riley since he was a teenager, have cut ties with Riley, even removing him from several upcoming shows.

Along with his work as an independent wrestler; he also works at Orangetheory Fitness; a Staten Island area gym.

Orangetheory Fitness has since released a statement:

“Orangetheory Fitness is shocked and appalled by the arrest of one of its franchisee’s employees in Staten Island, N.Y.

Upon learning of the arrest, the franchise immediately terminated the employee. Franchisees are required to conduct background and reference checks prior to hiring all coaches, and, in this case, the franchisee did conduct a background check upon hiring the employee and no prior incidents were discovered. The franchise in Staten Island is fully cooperating with authorities.”

As you may expect, Riley didn’t cut the figure of a child predator. He was always a willing participant in charity events and was always happy to work with children.

This news may not have come at a worse time for Riley as the WWE has used the mid spring months as big hiring times for the NXT brand.

Many have wondered what this may mean for his career; however, it appears as if now his bookings have all but stopped.
