Marc-Andre ter Stegen demanded full time playing time to stay in Barcelona

Barcelona, Spain – German goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen is being said to be unhappy with sharing times with fellow keeper Claudio Bravo at Barcelona. For this reason, the 24-year-old has demanded Barcelona to guarantee him a first-choice role to stay with the club.

According to today’s Mundo Deportivo, this situation may not be quite settled yet as ter Stegen may be considering still exiting the club and taking the offer that has been placed by Manchester City.

The Barcelona-based sports newspaper reports that after morning training today, ter Stegen and his agent, Gerd vom Bruch, headed to club offices to discuss his future. Among the talking points was offers from several clubs, with Mundo Deportivo naming Manchester City as one of them.

Contrary to these reports, Sport reports that Barcelona have refuted claims that ter Stegen is unhappy with the club and stated that the German keeper is non-negotiable.

“Ter Stegen and his agent met on Tuesday morning with representatives of the sports management of Barça in the offices of the Catalan club.

It was a routine meeting framed on the good relations between the club and player and was in no way intended to be an ultimatum from Ter Stegen, as had been speculated by some sources, nor had any offers been presented to the 24-year-old from potential suitors.”

Luis Enrique wishes to keep both goalies as he feels both have performed as expected but has had a difficult time deciding on who will be the prime minutes taker for this season.
