World Football

The summer transfer window is approaching thick and fast. Every club will be looking to strengthen in various areas. Last years summer transfer window held host to the most expensive transfer of all time. Paul Pogba’s 89 million pound move to Manchester United. Will anyone match that this year? Let’s take a look at the top five transfer rumors heading into the window.

1. Lacazette To Atletico

This has only recently gathered traction but it seems to be happening. The Frenchman has 26 goals for Lyon this season, and is just the player Atletico need to partner Antoine Griezmann. Spanish radio station COPE report that a deal has been agreed verbally between Atletico and Alexandre Lacazette. COPE reported that Griezmann was the one who recommended Lacazette to Atletico. The signing of Lacazette would bolster an Atletico team who sit 4th in La Liga. An underwhelming campaign for the Madrid club. If Griezmann stays the Lacazette Griezmann partnership may well be the most potent in world football.

2. Griezmann To United

Staying on the topic of Atletico, The Antoine Griezmann To Manchester United rumors will not go away. The Frenchman has been linked with the Red Devil’s since the start of last summer, and the speculation shows no signs of slowing down. Griezmann has made no secret of his desires to,”play for a top club” one day, but has also declared that he is happy at Atletico. His friendship with Man United play maker Paul Pogba may prove a pivotal role in the transfer. The league position of both United and Atletico will be a big factor. If Atletico fail to secure Champions League football and United do, we may see that famous celebration in the Premier League in no time.

3. Wayne Rooney to Everton

The man the myth the legend. Wayne Rooney has done it all at United. Top goal scorer ever for the club. Champions League winner. Premier League winner. It doesn’t get much better then his career. But speculation has been rife recently about a possible move back to his boyhood club Everton. Rooney has had limited game time at United this season. Rooney has only featured in 18 of United’s 29 Premier League games this season. Limited to substitute appearances and a bit part role, Rooney is said to be growing frustrated at life at United. His omission from the England squad can only add fuel to an already burning fire. Ronald Koeman has also publicly expressed how keen he is to sign Rooney.  Koeman said on the rumors, “What will happen at the end of the season? I don’t know but in my opinion he is one of the players who can make Everton more stronger. It’s all about what the player likes, what Manchester United needs to do, and we are not involved in that project. But every player that we at Everton think can make the team stronger is welcome to Everton.”

4. Lukaku to Chelsea

Romelu Lukaku last week turned down the most lucrative contract Everton have ever offered a player, causing mass speculation about a possible transfer. The Belgian has scored 21 goals in The Premier League this season. He is the first Everton player to do this in the Premier League era. As of today, former club Chelsea are favorites to sign the young Belgian. Lukaku previously played for Chelsea before his move to Everton.  The Express report that Conte has bid £70 million to re-sign Lukaku. If Chelsea do sign Lukaku it may signal the end of Diego Costa’s career at the London club. The Spanish international admitted recently that he wanted to leave for Atletico at the start of the season, Costa said,“I’ve done everything to come back to Atletico Madrid but I wouldn’t fight the same to return. When Atletico didn’t wait for me, I had to go to Conte with the tail between my legs.”

5. Bakayoko To Chelsea

Monaco central midfielder has agreed personal terms with Chelsea, according to Spanish Journalist Guillem Balague.

Tiemoue Bakayoko has come into the spotlight this season following Monaco’s success in both the league and the Champions League. His performances seem to have got him a move to soon to be Premier League Champions Chelsea. All Chelsea need to do is offer Monaco more then anyone else, and given their financial background Chelsea should have no problem doing that. The supposed market value of Bakayoko is £32 million. He would be a perfect partner or fellow french international N’Golo Kante in the Chelsea Midfield.
