TSJ101 Opinion: Thoughts From The Chubby Guy XXXIX: Formal Finds Difficulty

TSJ101 Opinion: Thoughts From The Chubby Guy XXXIX: Formal Finds Difficulty

Good morning, dear readers, this is your friendly neighbourhood wrestling writer, Gregory Black, and I am here to bring you  yet another edition of your favourite morning coffee read, “Thoughts From The Chubby Guy”. You know? I know you are probably wondering about the title, well… As you would assume, being a person of the bigger persuasion, it can be rather difficult to shop for formal clothing. Right now, I am trying to shop for a simple dress shirt to wear to my cousin’s wedding next weekend, but, I am having about as much luck as the Dallas Cowboys had last season.

Maybe, even less than that.

Ugh, well, there are some positives that I can attest to this week, I managed to finally put the hiatus to rest, and sign up for a gym membership, signing back on with Planet Fitness. Truth be told, I have a goal weight that I have always wanted to get back to, and over the years, worked on it on and off. But, with me finally joining again, and me going back on my four day gym schedule, the goal weight of 230 is a reality yet to be reached.

I know what you guys are probably thinking at the moment, goal weight of 230? If that is your goal weight, then what is your actual weight… Well, this is rather embarrassing, but, I am a 300 pounder. And, at my height, well, it’s not good. You see? I have always been a big person, literally, I think that there may have been only one year in my entire existence where I was actually thin and the appropriate weight, and that was when I was the tender age of 12. I was always the “chubby/husky/chunky” kid, who, while he was active, was always portly, but, as I grew older, and the time to run around and really be active dwindled, I…put weight on.

Yeah, I know, it isn’t really an excuse for putting on so much weight, but, as you would figure, life grabbed hold of the wheel, and so did not so important priorities. Not a great excuse, nor the best explanation, but, the best motivation for moving forward and trying to get hold of my health again. Trust me, readers, having to take medication EVERY. SINGLE. DAY is NOT a fun reality for myself, or my family. To have them worry that I could one day croak on them at a young age is a very scary reality, considering that last year, my brother-in-law passed away at the same age that I am currently. A thought that is on my mind day in and day out.

Yes, I am bearing my soul to all of you, because, well, I can, you have read my opinion pieces up to this point, and you know that if I am not being 100% honest with you here, then I am not being 100% honest with myself, which is why whenever I do take a moment to speak about something personal, I give nothing but my utmost self to all of you, in theory, this piece is my sometimes personal journal, a journal that this site supports, and upper management loves because of the wit and hilarity from most of the posts, but, still a pseudo journal, nonetheless.

And here you thought the title of “Thoughts From The Chubby Guy” was just a witty name for an opinion piece, haw haw!

Heh, but, I can tell you that everyday is a new challenge, and it isn’t always an obvious one. Some days, I’ll feel as if I were run over by a Mack Truck, other days, my blood pressure will be through the roof from the moment I wake up, some days, I’ll be fine, and still others? I wish I would have never gotten out of bed. The odd thing, I’ll sometimes, or really, most times, never really know how my health will affect me until I walk out of the house. There have been days where I have said that maybe I should stay home, but, went to work anyway, and toughed it out, because bills don’t pay themselves, and bill collectors aren’t exactly the most understanding people.

The only thing they want to understand is how long it will take for their money to come in, and how long they have to wait until they can bill you again. It can be sickening.

Right now, I am listening to some “Drum and Bass”, it’s actually calming to me, care to listen?

I dig the mix, it’s rather nice, and flows together nicely.

Yes, I am into a whole mess load of different types of music, I used to DJ, so, yeah.

Anyhoo, getting back to what I was originally speaking of, because of all of this, I am actually making it my purpose to lose this weight, put muscle back on, get my heart stronger, my blood pressure under control, and my life back in the mode it should have been in the first place, with me trying to get back into the nitty gritty, and back into the swing of things.

Can’t do that, if I am not serious about getting my life back together, and part of that is to get my health back in order. And speaking of orders… Hmm, I wonder if there is a spot online to get a nice formal shirt, big and tall (even though I’m anything but tall), that won’t kill the pockets.

Ahh, I’ve done it, found a nice shirt, what do you guys think?

Thank goodness for plus sized oriented shops. Well, there goes that challenge. And now comes the challenge of getting into the gym, a challenge I am more than willing to face head on, and conquer, because if nothing else, family matters, and they need me around, to help it grow. And that is something I am more than willing to do. And so, with that, I leave you all with this, folks, if there is a challenge that you feel must be faced, never falter in facing it head on, because if you do, then you will not accomplish your goals.

There is only one person who can achieve your goals for you, and it is the person who looks back at you from that mirror, so, take life by the reins, and march forward, because you can achieve anything, as long as you put your mind to it, and your body in motion for it.

Well, it is time I take my leave, dear readers, as always, I am thankful that you have not only taken the time to read my article, my thoughts and opinions, but, also, in taking your time to read all of the amazing reports that this wonderful staff brings you on a daily basis. Only here, only on, the home of TFTCG. Heh, cheap plug.

So, until next time, dear readers, this is Gregory Black, wishing you a relaxing weekend, and an easy going start to your work week ahead. Take it easy, folks, see you next time.

OH, and before I go, I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the family of wrestling legend, Blackjack Mulligan/Robert Windham, who passed away this week. We here at TSJ101 hope for the best for his family at this hardest of times, and hope that they will be alright. God speed.
