Justin Morneau Signs With Sox.

The Chicago White Sox have signed 35-year old and four-time All-Star Justin Morneau.

Morneau will head to the 15-day DL after signing a 1-year, $1 million deal. The deal also has as much as $2.5 million in performance bonuses based on up to 400 plate appearances.

After having surgery on his left elbow in December, he remained unsigned until now. The White Sox expect Morneau to be ready sometime after the All-Star break.

Morneau will provide the Sox with a much needed left-handed bat in a very righty lineup.

In a related move, Matt Latos has been DFA and Tyler Danish has been called up from Triple-A to fill the roster spot.
