WWE Legend Mr. Fuji dead at 82

The WWE and the pro wrestling world as a whole was shocked on Sunday, August 28, 2016 when legendary manager and member of the 2007 WWE Hall of Fame class Mr. Fuji had passed away.

He was best known for his decade plus as a manager for a number of major names in the WWF and WCW that included names like George “The Animal” Steele, Don Muraco and Demolition. But before that, he had close to a 20 year career as an in-ring performer spending time with the WWE (then WWWF), Georgia Championship Wrestling and World Wrestling Council.

As a manager Fuji was known for a series of vignettes spoofing the popular 1980s television show Miami Vice, named Fuji Vice, starring himself and Don Muraco. He was also famous for throwing salt in other wrestlers’ eyes during matches.

Fuji retired from managing in 1997 and for the most part kept out of the public eye, save for his 2007 hall of fame induction ceremony. His last managerial appearance was at WrestleMania 12 in the corner of Yokozuna.
