Xavi Hernandez renews contract with Qatari side Al Sadd until 2018

Al Sadd, Doha, Qatar – Former Spain international Xavi Hernandez has renewed his contract with Qatari side Al Sadd until 2018, the club has announced.

“Xavi had earlier joined the team at the start of the 2015-16 season after signing a two-year contract. With this message extension, he is now set to complete three years at the club.”

 The Spanish midfielder, who turned 37 on Wednesday, arrived at Al Saad at the start of the 2015-16 season, having completed 17 seasons in Barcelona.

His team is ranked second in the Qatari league with 40 points, three behind leaders Lekhwiya after completing 17 league games.

The adaptation of the Catalan player in Qatar has been a total success. Xavi has managed the game of his team to perfection, despite not having colleagues of a high quality soccer, but is also contributing as a coach of the Qatar Sub’23. Barcelona’s former captain is the assistant manager of this Qatar national team, a team that is being trained by Felix Sanchez.
