Global Force Wrestling Future Possibly In Doubt

Global Force Wrestling may be in trouble with reports that Anthem Sports is ready to sell Impact Wrestling. Sports Illustrated is reporting that Jeff Jarrett has stepped away from his role as Chief Creative Officer with GFW. Jarrett has stepped down due to “personal reasons.”There are also reports that Anthem Sports, Global Force Wrestling’s parent company, is ready to sell GFW. When asked to clarify Jarrett’s status, Anthem elected to deny any further clarification.

It is being reported that Global Force Wrestling is hemorrhaging money and their future as a company could be in doubt. Anthem Sports has gutted their fight network to support GFW. In a shocking term of events, apparently, the deal to merge GFW and Impact Wrestling was never finalized. Jarrett still owns the name Global Force Wrestling. The next step for Impact Wrestling will be interesting, GFW is one of the few wrestling companies with a television deal. As well as an extensive and respected tape library from TNA before moving to GFW.

The TNA tape library could be worth a decent amount because with the years of work from stars like The Hardys, AJ Styles, Kurt Angle, Sting, Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels, etc. Since most of the performers listed are now in the WWE, we could see them attempt to purchase the library. It will be interesting to see what is next for GFW and Impact Wrestling.
