Y2J vs. Omega

Y2J vs. Omega, WWE great vs. New Japan Pro Wrestling icon. The match was announced at today’s Power Struggle event.

How did it start?

It starts with Jericho and Kenny going back and forth on Twitter, for weeks. A fan on Twitter said Kenny is the “best in the world” now, not Chris Jericho.

Jericho replies with:

Kenny Fires Back:

Jericho then shoots back:

It gets more heated:

Alpha vs Omega Begins!

Right after, Kenny Omega was able to defend his IWGP United States Championship in a hard-fought match against Beretta.

He then waits who is going to come out, and challenge him next, but nobody comes to the ring. But suddenly Chris Jericho pops up on the big screen.

Jericho cut a promo about previous wrestlers (like Shawn Michaels, Edge and CM Punk) claiming to be the “Best in the World,” but they’re no longer around. Jericho said he is the best. He says he’s the “Alpha” of this business. Then he tells the world that he wants to prove it by challenging Omega at NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom 12 on January 4.

Omega gladly accepts Jericho’s challenge for the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship, and the dream match is on.

Y2J vs Omega, Title Wins vs Title Wins…

Jericho is a six-time World Heavyweight champion (first ever Undisputed Heavyweight champion), a record nine-time Intercontinental champion, seven-time World Tag-Team champion, two-time United States champion, one-time European champion, and one-time Hardcore champion.

He’s the ninth Triple Crown champion and the fourth Grand Slam Champion in WWE history.

Kenny Omega is the reigning and inaugural IWGP United States Heavyweight champion. He is also a former one-time IWGP Intercontinental champion, two-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight champion, one-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team champion, and a two-time NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team champion.

He is a one-time winner of NJPW’s premier tournament, the G1 Climax, having won it in 2016 and being the first non-Japanese wrestler to do so.

Not to mention, he is a member of the Bullet Club in ROH. Additionally, he has a share of the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship.

Every fan knows the outcome of this upcoming match between the two, and who is going to come out victorious…

Writer’s Note:

This is the type of dream matches that WWE needs to bring to its fan. Now the dream match is happening elsewhere. My only one question is that will Jericho be in trouble since Meekmahan is not too fond with his superstars associating with the Bullet Club Members.

But for Jericho, this is his second feud with the name K.O, first being Kevin Owens, and now Kenny Omega.
