Chris Jericho, former WWE Superstar, once again got the wrestling world abuzz with his surprise appearance in New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Dream Match: Alpha vs Omega…

The two Canadians were front and center throughout the build, with the hope being that the presence of an international star like Y2J would attract western viewers. Y2J made his long-awaited return to NJPW with an unbelievable match against Kenny Omega. Meanwhile, Kenny’s hand was raised in the end, both men felt like winners.

And it was trending worldwide during the show. Social media buzzing for hours and WrestleKingdom drew 34,995 fans to the Tokyo Dome – an increase of 8,000 on the previous year.

Now he sets his sights on another Japanese Wrestler.

Next Target…

Y2J picked his next target in NJPW less than 24 hours after his classic match. He stunned fans by coming out of the audience at Friday’s NJPW New Year’s Dash card to attack another NJPW icon, Tetsuya Naito.

Like Y2J, Naito came up short in the other main event against Kazuchika Okada for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. Y2J’s shocking attack happened when Naito was in the ring, celebrating with his Los Ingobernables de Japon teammates; after their win over Chaos.

Y2J brawled and beat on the Stardust Genius such that referees, young lions, and even Roppongi 3K and their mentor Rocky Romero tried to stop the attack.

Naito then did his Tranquilo roll and taunted Y2J, which just further inflamed his Canadian rage. Moments later, referees and crew finally pulled Y2J out of the ring.
