ROH World Title Match Set for Rev Pro Dec. 8th

A World Championship isn’t truly a “World” Championship if it isn’t defended across, you know, the world. And for Ring of Honor (ROH), their World Title is definitely that. UK Indy promotion Revolution Pro Wrestling has announced that on their December 8th “Uprising” event, the ROH World Title will be up for grabs.

World Champ Cody Rhodes will defend against former ROH Champ Jay Lethal, with implications that could affect the upcoming ROH Final Battle event.

Should Lethal defeat Cody, and win the ROH World Championship; he will have to defend against Dalton Castle, Cody and Cody’s fellow Bullet Club member, Marty Scurll.

Jay Lethal, who was already scheduled to face off against Scurll; currently the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion, will have his hands full if he wins. The Lethal/Scurll match was dubbed the “Dream Match” on the card, with the main event seeing Cody defending against Castle.

But, if Cody retains, then the plans will, essentially, stay the same.

Both Cards are Stacked…

Both Final Battle and Uprising are touting stacked cards, as Uprising will see Zack Sabre Jr. defend the Undisputed British Heavyweight Championship against Matt Riddle.

Marty Scurll and The Young Bucks will take on Flip Gordon and CCK. Moustache Mountain (Trent Seven and Tyler Bate) will defend the Undisputed British Tag Team Titles again the winners of the December 3rd Aussie Open vs. Bodom/Gibson Match.

As for Final Battle, aside from the aforementioned Lethal/Scurll and Cody/Castle matches. The card will also see the ROH Tag Team Titles defended; as The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) defend against the team known as “Best Friends” (Trent Beretta and  Chuckie T.)

The World Television Title will also be up for grabs in a Four Corners Elimination Match; with Kenny King defending against Silas Young, Punishment Martinez and Shane Taylor.

The ROH Six Man Tag Titles will be on the line, as champs Adam Page & The Young Bucks defend against Flip Gordon, Dragon Lee and Titan.

And finally, in a special attraction match, Matt Taven faces off against “The Aerial Assassin” Will Ospreay.
