Gabe Sapolsky

Gabe Sapolsky is a professional wrestling promoter and creative writer (Booker), primarily focused on Evolve. He is currently the vice-president of talent relations, creative and marketing of the World Wrestling Network (WWN).

Most Notable,

He was known as Paul Heyman’s Personal Assistant with Extreme Championship Wrestling; the co-founder and head of talent relations (Booker) at Ring of Honor, and the vice-president of Dragon Gate USA.

Wrestling Observer Newsletter had awarded him as the “best booker” from 2004 to 2007. He even featured on the WWE DVDs: “My Name Is Paul Heyman”, and “Journey to Summerslam: The Destruction of The Shield.”

A “Handshake” Agreement with the WWE,

Sapolsky has been hired as a consultant; he will be spending the next few months working on what PWI described as “a handshake agreement.” He’ll provide backstage assistance at NXT TV tapings and will be allowed to continue his role with WWN and EVOLVE offshoot; with WWE seeing this as a continuation of their existing working relationship with Sapolsky’s company. This move doesn’t come as a surprise, as he’s constantly linked with a WWE role over the past few years.

Triple H even addresses him directly during a conference call last summer, stating:

“I like Gabe, [I] like what he does. I think he’s a smart guy that helps to get talent going in their careers. When I have an opportunity for him to be around us and learn from us and I can bring him in and see how his mind works, it’s good for everybody. I want to work with guys or groups or organizations that are in the business of cultivating talent and not just putting on shows, selling some tickets and moving on. People are interested in cultivating talent and helping to push their careers along.”

Gabe Sapolsky on signing with WWE:

“I am beyond excited about what the future will bring,” he said in a statement.

“[I] need to give my most heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported me on this 24 year journey, I truly wouldn’t be here without you. I never forget that and will always work my hardest to bring you the best product possible. [I] want to make it clear that I am still committed to doing the same job I have always done, for WWN and EVOLVE. [I] go 100% in everything I do and will never let up.

In fact, I feel that 2018 will be the will be biggest year in WWN history with the launch of the Club WWN subscription service at I can’t wait for EVOLVE this Saturday and Sunday in New York City. EVOLVE will be the place for talent to make and improve their reputations. It can be new players like Darby Allin, Austin Theory and Priscilla Kelly, who really began getting noticed in 2017.

It can be established players like Zack Sabre Jr., who raised his game, and staked his claim as being one of the best in the world with his EVOLVE Championship reign; or Keith Lee, who had a rep going into 2017, but became THE MAN in 2017 as a singles star. I am highly anticipating seeing more talent develop up and down the card in 2018. It has the making of a special year.”

TSJ Writer’s Short Note:

I hope this will bring in Paul Heyman as Head Writer for WWE, and the two working together again will bring the excitement that the company is lacking.
