News: Gail Kim Announced Her Retirement

Gail Kim-Irvine, a Canadian professional wrestler, model, and actress of Korean descent, a former WWE Diva, current Impact Wrestling knockout, and a first female GFW Hall of Famer.

She was the first ever Diva in WWE history, to win a championship in a debut match.

She joined World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) 2 times – back in 2002 to 2004, and again at 2008 to 2011.

Kim was also appeared in the video games; WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2010 and WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011.

Her most noticeable act with the company is when she did the unthinkable-“Eliminating herself from the Diva’s Battle Royal match!”

She later explained,

“WWE had instructed her to get eliminated from the match within the first minute, so she decided to just eliminate herself.”

She announced on her Twitter account that she quits WWE following the incident.

Gail Kim joined TNA again (now GFW Impact Wrestling). Her time with TNA started from 2005 to 2007, and then from 2011 to 2017.

She was six times Knockouts, and one time Knockout’s Tag Team Champion.

The only second woman in TNA history to hold both title belts simultaneously.

But on July 13th 2017, now at age 40, Kim appeared GFW Impact Wrestling episode, to announce her retirement.

The GFW Hall of Famer said “she will be retiring from in-ring competition at the end of 2017, but while she is retiring, she plans on going out on top.”

The six-time Knockouts Champion thanked the other wrestlers, the company, and her fans during the speech.

She will still be appearing regularly between now and the end of the year until her retirement.
